For the baby

As some of you may know when I as pregnant with Harper I painted him wooden letters for his room, they turned out really cute.
So I did the same thing for my little girl Delaney who is still in my tummy. Here are some pics. I have to say that they turned out so much cuter than Harper's and they are sparkly. But don't tell Harper they are better.

Harper's 1st haircut

I also thought that I would include a recent picture of me with my belly. Please keep in mind that this is in the morning in my pj's so I don't look really great. Me at 33 wks.

Yesterday marked yet another big day for my seeming little boy, he got his first hair cut.... I have to admit that I have wanted him to get a hair cut for a while but I have been to scared to do it myself because of all of his curls. I have heard so many people say that at one time their child had curly hair and then they cut it and it never grew back. Hopefully this is not the case, because if it is I will cry.
My mother took on this tall order for me since I couldn't do it by myself. Harper sat very calmly in the chair and only started to cry when my mom was combing his hair because of all of the tangles he had. As far as the hair cutting part he did fine, he kept looking back and forth at everyone else in the room who was talking so I had to hold his face.
It is a little short, he still has some curl but not to the extent that it used to have. I know it will grow out, but I miss the fluffy mess he had before.
Here are some before and after pics for you to see.

Twin Falls Temple

On Friday 8/15, Danny and I had the chance to go to the Twin Falls temple for a tour before it was dedicated. We went with my family of course: My Mom, sister's Rebecca, Erin, Amanda, Shannon, Niece Emma and Jenny Hoskins. The drive down was far from fun, at this point in the pregnancy both my hips and my back are "killing" me, so it was hard to get comfortable.

When we did finally get there we had basically no waiting. For those of you who have gone you know what the process is before the actual tour to the temple so no need to bore you.

I have only been in the Boise temple so I had an idea of what to expect, Danny however has never been in a temple so it was all new for him. I did expect it to be whiter....you know what I mean, more pure I guess. But it was still beautiful. The paintings were neat, but the coolest part was really the chandeliers, so big and brilliant. Danny and I both want to know how much the church forked out for those.

I also really like the Celestial room and the ceiling room. Both very spiritual and stood out in my mind. Danny's favorite part was the Celestial room and the font, but he enjoyed all of it.

After we took some pictures and then went home were our little boy was anxiously awaiting us to pick him up at the babysitters. I guess that he was good all day long, and I was so worried that he was going to be a monster, thanks Kindra for watching him!

Nursery

Today was another somewhat big event in the life of my little man. He got to go to his first day of nursery at church. He looked so cute, as pictured in this picture. He was so nervous when we got to church, he hid between my legs in my dress when people were coming up to me complementing on how cute he is.

It was hard for me to drop him off because I was just so worried that he would get sad becuase I left and wouldn't have fun. But after some coaxing on both of our parts we seperated and went our own ways.

I did check on him later and he was sitting at the little table on a little chair, swinging his legs and eating his snack. He just looked so freaking cute, and if I would have brought my camera to church there would be a picture of that to.

All in all he had fun, he got to color, play with playdough (something I wouldn't let him do at home) and run around with little kids his own age. I think next week he will be less reluctant to go in and enjoy himself.

Harper's 18 mo old now!

So Harper turned 18 mo old on Sunday, I can't believe that he is that old already! For those of you who don't know Harper is my one and only child atleast for the next few months....then he will be joined by a sister. Anyhow... we took Harper to the doctor today for his 18 mo check up and shots and I went in with so many questions however I forgot all of them or the doctor answered them without me having to ask.

Let me tell you about Harper's progress to this point:

He is 27 pounds just rounding up

He is really tall but I forgot the mesurements on that

He knows about 10-20 words which is above average for his age

He is already in a big boy bed so we don't have to worry about that

We don't have to take away a binky because he doesn't have one, sucking his thumb though

He isn't autistic......ya!

He does very well with interacting with adults and with kids his age

I could go on and on, the doc said that per the charts he is about 6 mo past his age!

After the doctor made me feel so much better about being a parent the worst part of the visit came. You know what I am talking about....the shots (dun dun dun) He laid down on the thing then the nurse rolled up his shorts a little and showed him the wipey things and wiped down his legs, then I grabbed his arms and he got worried. It took him only a split second to figure out that he was being stabbed and he didn't like it. After wards I held him in my arms and enjoyed that mother/son bond. Then he was fine litterally 2 min later.

So Danny and I haven't been bad parents after all. I really feel like I deserve a pat on the back right now, danny to of course.

The rest of the day I just laid around like it was a normal day. I am however looking forward to sleeping well at night. But we all know that won't happen for another few years, it doesn't just end after pregnancy like it should.
